IIRC this Jimmy twat was also an old flame of Barbara's.
Me neither. An interview with Ronnie Allen in 87/88 when he was trying his luck in Hollywood had him saying being sacked killed her. When they bring out volume 3, remember to watch out for when she says, "I know now I've opted out I feel happier." She's looking at the camera when she says that and you can tell she's not happy one bit!

Just been reading all this thread about Crossroads..used to love it all those years ago...my Mum used to be a big fan & everything stopped until it was over. I remember when the big mistake was made about putting Sandy in the wheelchair..TPTB didnt realise that what they had said was wrong with him wasnt curable so he had to stay in the wheelchair..does anyone else remember that...i'm sure my memory hasnt failed me.

I'm too young but he broke his spine I think. One of the eps after Sandy's car crash is on the first volume. But then poor Roger Tonge ended up in one anyway.

No idea. Contrary to popular belief the ratings never went down as much as has gone into legend after Nolly left. The beginning of the end came in 1985 trying to make it glamorous like Dynasty/Dallas and alienating the older fans while the youngsters weren't interested.

Yes but it wasn't a drastic change like 2003. It happened gradually.

Kathy Staff was always in and out like Paul Henry. I can't remember if they axed her though. All the Banks went to Canada but Glenda returned for Kath's wedding to the drip. It wasn't a great deal of time but there was a transition period between the Hunters leaving while the Freemans came in. The Banks went before or after. I can't quite remember.

I didnt realise Glenda came back for Kath's wedding. Glenda's husband was a bit of a drip as well.

Kevin had an affair with Carol something (can't remember the name). She was the Hunter's housekeeper and he did decorating there. Then she became a mechanic long before Charlene in Neighbours. Kevin Moran and Jo-Anne Good got together in real life for a few years.
