The DVD has been delayed until the 29th August for some reason. Patsy Oh well that will give me plenty of time to watch the Corire one first, ive got some time off in early Aug and will have more chance to watch the Corrie DVD's than I usually would. Wonder why they delayed it?

Info from Network:
Crossroads Volume Two
Format: DVD Classification: PG Number of Discs: 2
Description The pictures are better...but the programmes are just the same! Here, in all its glory, is the second volume of Crossroads, including episodes released on DVD for the very first time. Meg and Sandy Richardson, Benny Hawkins, Adam Chance, Shughie McFee – the names still strike a chord in the memories a generation of people who sat, entranced, watching the latest escapades of the staff and customers of Crossroads motel. Entranced, but usually for the wrong reason! Would the walls wobble? Would the actors dry up or start laughing mid-sentence? Anything could happen! Unrepeated for many years, the general perception of Crossroads is coloured by that of Acorn Antiques (currently playing as a hugely successful musical at the Haymarket starring Victoria Wood and Julie Walters). Whilst most people believe that it is a pastiche, it is actually a stunningly-realised and terrible subtle homage to the original Crossroads. If you love Acorn Antiques then you’re sure to love this DVD, which holds a further twelve of the best episodes from the 60s and 70s. This series will appeal to people who enjoy soap operas, Acorn Antiques and archive television fans.
Episodes Episode 497 from November 1966 Episode 986 from November 1968 Episode 1009 from January 1969 Episode 1366 from September 1970 Episode 1674 from March 1972 Episode 2451 from December 1975 Episode 2821 from September 1977 Episode 2868 from December 1977 Episode 2869 from December 1977 Episode 2870 from December 1977 Episode 3530 from November 1981 Episode 3831 from August 1983
Extras Promotional trailers • Interview with Sue Nicholls • Crossroads reunion
Technical Information Picture: 4:3 / Colour and Black and White Sound: Mono / English Subtitles: None Region: 2 / PAL Running Time: 250 mins So a Central one after all! Wonder if that's Jill & Adam's wedding or Nolly in Venice? Maybe none. LOL! It's all very random. Do they have the tapes in the corner and are pulling them out at random or what? They'd never do that with Corrie.

Thanks for posting that info Patsy. I think the Nov 1981 one will be the fire or Nolly/Meg leaving. I guess we will have to wait and see what the episode descriptions are to go with these eps. But there is hope we will get more Central ones now.

It's ridiculous. How can you watch them in chronological order? They have some together. Why not the week of the fire to Meg's Farewell? Okay so there's 3 but they could still do it since no one knew Meg was alive and they all presumed she'd died. Very annoying. I'd like to see them treat Corrie the same slapdash way.

Well they are on chronological order on each release, its just that they maybe wanted to put not all 1960s eps on the first one but more of a mixture if you see what I mean

I know but if you want to watch them in order you have to keep changing discs over. Very annoying. If they knew already (and I assume they did since the other was Volume 1) how many releases there were going to be, they should have had them in order throughout the volumes. You won't get Corrie from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s all over the place, will you? Crossroads, the greatest soap ever, has always been treated appallingly.

Ha, ha! Crossroads was more popular in the 70s. Crossroads was pioneering. Free Benny banners and graffitti all over the place back then. They didn't court publicity like EE and Corrie did. It just happened due to it being so popular and well loved. None of this in-your-face issue-led stuff Brookie started, EE then Corrie copied. Crossroads did it but subtley. Crossroads, Corrie and Emmerdale Farm were sooooooo different and all had their individuality. Now the soaps (apart from Emmerdale which has its own niche) are clones and it's hard to tell EE and Corrie apart.

1981 is the fire. 1983 is preparations for Jill and Adam's wedding so it looks like there's a volume 3 in the pipeline. ;D

Episode 1366 (September 1970) = Meg is away and Mr Lovejoy is left running the motel. All is not well with the staff, however, and a dispute between Mr Booth, Amy and Vi turns nasty. A Stranger turns up in the kitchen claiming to have planted a bomb there. Nick makes Mr Lovejoy a proposition. Episode 1674 (March 1972) = Amy and Mrs Tatum settle their differences over Wilf only to find that he has found himself a new dance partner. Stacey Baxter, and receives a visit from her after Jane refuses to cover for him. Episode 2868 (December 1977) = Benny waits at the hospital for the news about Maureen. Stan confronts Anthony Mortimer about his affair with Jill. Sandy and Lynn get engaged. Episode 2869 (December 1977) = Kate Hamilton and Tony Morgan celebrate New Year together. Lucy, Kate's daughter, sulks and David gives her some advice. Jill contemplates divorce proceedings. Benny receives devastating news. Episode 2870 (December 1977) = News of Maureen's death circulates around the motel and Benny breaks the news to Flynn. Kate helps Tony Moran at the casino, to daughter Lucy's dismay. Jim Baines and Sharon are at a loose end in the bar. Episode 3530 (November 1981) = After his acquisition, Adam persuades Sharon to run the garage. The Brownlow family get embroiled with Iris' pregnancy. Meg decides that motel life is no longer for her and concedes defeat to David. Bonfire night at the motel goes with a bang. Episode 3831 (August 1983) = Kath Brownlow apologises to John Latchford for Glenda's outburst. Preparations are under way for Adam and Jill's big day.
-------------------------------------------- John Latchford, incidentally, was played by David Jason's brother, Arthur White. Some great eps there.

November? Oh dear that clashed with the Corrie 80s set so Crossroads will have to wait. Thanks for the info Patsy.

Also noticed that there are only 2 eps after 1977 on that one so there wont be much Adam on this DVD either.

Adam's in the Fire ep. He's on reception. ;D
Isn't Corrie 31st October? Crossroads for me. Soon as it's on pre-order I'm ordering it. See the QE2 14 years before Corrie did it. Better too, albeit rather short. ;D
