Is this too recent to be called a classic? I loved it though, one of the funniest comedies I`ve seen in years. I liked the Ricky Tomlinson/Sue Johnston partnership in Brookside during the 80`s. And even a decade or so later, they still worked well together.

Agreed. Ricky and Sue went very well together on that series I wonder when that series was made was it to have a pop at the real Royal family? ;D

Alistair Mcgowan did a very good spoof of The Royal Family at home as the Royles.

We had friends return from a holiday in Britain, and tell us about this weird show where people just sit on a couch and talk, and it is boring, and they could not understand what was making it so popular. Some time later we got it here on BBC Canada, and fell in love with it. I thought the characters were wonderful from Nana to baby, and they were perfectly portrayed by the actors. Sorry when it ended. I have always liked Rickly Tomlinson. he does a good job of everything I have seen him in, also Sue Johnson who we are now seeing Waking the Dead.

It was a great series. I loved the way it was filmed in "real time" and nothing ever really happens. It took a while for me to get used to that, though. It was groundbreaking in a way.
