The complete series 1 is coming out on DVD on the 23rd January. Hope the rest do too. I'm sick of watching my edited Granada Plus copies!!!!

Oh I remember this in the Granada schedules - they edited this as well then.

They did. I have some episodes taped from a Dutch channel in the early 90s. They never edited them but never showed them all either.

It was a pain when Plus kept editing stuff

Especially as with UK Gold, their ad breaks got longer!

They did. They used to edit Corrie and Emmerdale to bits

I didn't mind the chopping out so much if I didn't have something already. But things I did I could see every time they hacked something out and it pissed me off so I couldn't watch them on there.

Yes it was like that with Corrie wasnt it, I had episodes from the VHS releases that were shown on plus hacked to death

At least UK Gold realised the error of their ways and altered start times from the hour and half hour to accommodate, even though they did have 3 ad breaks in hour-long programmes as opposed to the normal 2 on Plus.

Yes I notice UK Gold put half hour comedy in 40 minute slots so it runs;
7.00 7.40 8.20
if you see what I mean. Still an awful lot of ads in the space of 2 hours though

There are but at least they show things complete. BBC programmes suffered terribly with cuts in the first year of UK Gold.
