Blake wanted to destroy Star One and only the alien invasion stopped him. He would have done it and thus destroyed all communication between worlds and their use of technology such as weather control etc, lots and lots of lives would have been lost and morale so low that terror would have been the main emotion for most of the Federation citizens. Anarchy would follow. Avon said that Blake was a maniac to even consider this and so not really different from the 'tyrants' who ran the Federation, believing he was right and everyone who opposed him was wrong. Regretfully I now have to agree with Avon and change my opinion of Blake after all these years. The reason? A similar incident in our time that did go ahead, masterminded by someone who used shock tactics to make a great statement and show his contempt for the ruling powers and who believed that the lives of innocent citizens just did not matter. The incident? 9/11 SS

Good comparision SS. He did become really fanatical in season 2 which as we know, led to the death of Gan (though that was no great loss). Though to be fair, Avon went that way but not quite as bad in season 4.

Though to be fair, Avon went that way but not quite as bad in season 4. Patsy Avon got screwed up totally after the Anna Grant revelation (understandably) and lost Villa's support for good after the attempt to throw him overboard. Add that to his mistaken belief that Blake had sold out and become a bounty hunter and you have one paranoid individual.. I really would love to know what he would have done at the end of 'Blake' when the troopers had their guns trained on him and the others all seemed dead. Maybe in a sudden moment of clarity he saw all his mistakes and realised how far down the road to madness he'd gone, and shot himself in the head. Hopefully not, of course, but regretfully a distinct possibility. have you ever read Tony Attwood's book 'BLAKES 7: AFTERLIFE'? SS

He also had a rather unhealthy obsession with Orac by then! Vila could have been stunned, picked up his gun and shot Avon in the back. Even with the amount he drank, he might not have missed. LOL!
LOL! No, Avon would never do that. It's a pity really the people doing this 2-parter and Paul Darrow fell out. Though as he would only have been in that had it gone to series, it wouldn't have quite been the same.
I don't think I have read that. Have you read 'Avon: A Terrible Aspect'? Appalling!
