Oh yes! Not often she even gets a mention at all these days, let alone top of a poll. Great stuff!

I couldn't see the top 50 but I think Elsie Tanner/Howard was the best character ever in the street. Followed by Ena Sharples, Bet Lynch and Curly Watts. What do you think?

Hilda was the best IMO. Followed by Reet, Elsie, Annie.

I like Vera too but if memory serves me right, Elsie Tanner would be tops. I didn't see Rita in her heyday so probably missed her best stuff.

Alan Bradley was Reet's best stuff during 1988/9 after they turned him bad. I liked Ted Sullivan too. Been a bit downhill since. Well, a LOT downhill since.
Henke I loved Elsie Tanner and Ena Sharples as well as Hilda, Stan, Annie Walker, Ray Langton, Mavis. I have so many from the past I like. But Reet's my fave so I'm biased in this case. LOL!
