Anyone else watching this tonight? The 10 acts in the final competing for the record of the year are
James Blunt Lemar Daniel Powter Gwen Stefani Westlife McFly Katie Melua Black Eyed Peas Gorillaz Kelly Clarkson
Personally I want Daniel Powter to win as I love that song "Bad Day". I hate James Blunt's song "Your Beautiful" though, it gets on my nerves.
No doubt either Westlife or McFly will win though as all the teenage girls will be voting. I hope its not Westlife, I love the song "You Raise me up" but im not so keen on their cover of it. And they have already won 3 times before.

So it was Westlife who won then. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - its all so predictable.
Daniel Powter was robbed. At least he made the final 5, and in the Wales region was actually the 2nd most popular after Westlife.

I didn't watch but I caught the end. I don't think anyone who's won it more than twice should be entered. It's as bad as the Eurovision Song Contest.

It is. And I also think they should ban covers as well. More often than not its a boyband singing a cover song that wins.

Was it a cover? Definitely then since it's not even their own material.

Yes, Westlife sang "Your Raise Me Up" which has been sung but loads of people before. Its all a fix anyway. Singers like Daniel Powter who write their own music were robbed.

I don't know why, but everytime I hear 'You Raise Me Up'..... I end up singing 'You are the wind beneath my Wings'

Those girls on the X Factor were a lot better at singing it than Westlife.
Yes it does sound like "you are the wind beneath my wings". I do like the song "You Raise me up" however to say its the record of the year 2005 is a joke. As i said I wanted "Bad Day" to win, I sing along to that in my car when it comes on
#You had a bad day, the camera dont lie, you call me back down and you really dont mind, you had a bad day...... you had a bad day# lol

I love that song as well Jez! It's my favourite song right now. As for You Raise Me Up, I haven't heard Westlife's version, but I do love Josh Grobin's version. LOL Sooty!

I'm sure my mom was very pleased Westlife won. She loves them!
Personally I'd have liked Kelly Clarkson to have won, such a catchy song. I really likeDaniel Powter's song too, where did it come in the top 10? Glad Mcfly didn't win!

Daniel Powter came 5th overall I think but in Wales he came 2nd after Westlife.
