This was must-see drama when it started. The adventures of Tucker, Trisha, Alan, Benny and the gang was what everyone talked about at my school. So many grown-up actors started in Grange Hill, and also a certain teacher went on to become a certain Richard Hillman. It was criticised as too 'gritty' at the time, but went on for many series tackling more social issues and generally entertaining kids after school with a version of a school that was more interesting than their own.
