Anyone watch this new series on Channel 4 tonight. I thought it was very good, shame about so many ad breaks though, they seem to last longer than the program itself.
Next ep is starting now.

I watched Lost all season; have trouble remembering all the characters backgrounds but cut out a bit in the Star to which I will refer next season. It is different from what I usually like but it's one of the few shows that aren't in the reality genre and I like a few of the actors. Was hooked on 24 the first season but missed the last episode and they didn't rerun so I was so miffed I didn't watch the next season.

I thought this was excellent, a perfect way to fill that gap 'Desperate Housewives' left. A brilliant pilot episode. Although I had to suspend belief a bit as to how all the luggage etc was left intact. I hope the dog survives.

I agree. You have to suspend belief a bit with this series but I thought it was fantastic. I hope the dog lives too - poor thing.

I did not see it- had a friend around :-( Was it good? REVIEWS PLEASE!!! Its repeated on E4 on Sunday night I believe if you want to see it. It was very good but it will take a while to get to know everyone I think. Basically a plane crashes on an island somewhere and at the moment they are waiting to see if they will be rescued. The showed the crash a few times from the prospetive of the various different characters. I think it would have cost a lot of money to make this but its been a hit in the US apparently.

It cost between £3 and £5 million to make the first TWO episodes in the US, depending on which article you read!!! I think it is a brilliant series though, and have watched the first 10/12 episodes so far and loved them all. I personally prefer Desperate Housewives, but Lost is a close second.
It got around 6.5million viewers for Channel 4 which is very impressive and most of them stayed watching for the second episode as well. The third episode on E4 got roughly 1.7 million viewers which is another amazing feat considering this is E4. Of course this more then likely means that Channel 4's ratings will see a big fall next week.
Desperate Housewives first episode got around 4.1 million or so, which means that Lost is far more popular.

Desperate Housewives took awhile to catch on as they ran it at 7 p.m. Sun. to start, when everyone is having supper, company or clearing up. They moved it to 8 and then 9 and it became very popular. It too has a confusing storyline when you miss the odd one but I finally saw all the first season of both shows and enjoyed them both. I don't think you can really judge the quality of a show by the number of people watching. If you did that then American Idol and The Apprentice would be considered better and I can't stand either because of the BS. Lost gets interesting as the background of each character is featured although it's a bit of a fantasy - seems to be based on Survivor a bit. There are very few good dramas anymore IMO as reality TV has almost taken over.

So what are you all thinking as the series progresses? We are getting further ahead in Ireland now, with double episodes every Monday night so the new season of Irish drama can start.
Any favourite/least favourite characters? Any pet hates about the show? Come on, I'm trying to encourage some discussion here.
