Yeah, they rarely show clips of anything from the pre-Tate era. I thought you liked Emmerdale!

You're not kidding. This is their soap heritage they're ignoring. When characters were interesting and not all jumping into bed and murdering each other.

I used to like it, Theo, in the mid 1990s when it was the Kim Tate/Dave Glover era. I slowly went off it after Kim left in 1999, and even more so when Zoe Tate left.
I stopped watching completely last May and only went back to it over Christmas but have stopped watching again really and only dip in and out now. I hoped Sadie King would be a good replacement for Kim but she wasnt anywhere near as good.
Patsy, im surprised to see you write that, I thought you loved Emmerdale!

I like it but the 6 nights a week is showing. Don't forget, Jezziekins, I watched it as a child in the 70s and remember Christine Sugden walking out on Joe in 1974.

I havent forgotten that but that had nothing to do with the current discussion!
I agree 6 nights a week is ridiculous.

It has. You said you thought I loved Emmerdale and I was replying. That was part of the discussion. 6 nights a week is killing it and 5 is killing Corrie. What these crappy shows consider comedy these days wouldn't have seen the light of day years ago in the script. Patsy

Yeah but im talking about current/more recent Emmerdale - the fact you watched in 1974 doesnt have any bearing of whether you like it now or not. Like you watching Corrie in the 70s/80s yet you hate it now. I cant believe the 6 nights a week schedule is lasting so long. 5 is bad enough but 6 really is taking the piss.

No but I know what it was like back then and how often they had good humour, like Corrie, but it's overlooked in these things.
I'm sure ITV are creeping towards 6 for Corrie.

They better not be. Im hoping last nights was just a one off for the big storyline - and I think for once it did need 2 last night. I wouldnt have wanted to wait 2 days to see the second episode! I was completely gripped for most of the 2 episodes.
The next 2 Friday's there is only one on a Friday so im hoping it wont go to 6.

Even Mike Baldwin, who had been there nearly 30 years, never got a double or hour. Fred did. Charlie did.
